Abflug GT-R R35 Roof Panel (Dry Carbon)

The dry carbon roof panel is a carbon roof made by the autoclave method that uses carbon fiber equivalent to that used in the high-performance BMW M applications. Since the specific gravity of carbon fiber is around 1.4 kg and the tensile strength is equal to that or higher than that of steel, it is possible to make it much lighter than steel, and with a specific gravity of 7.85 kg.

The dry carbon roof of this product has five layers of carbon fiber and a plate thickness of 1.2 mm, resulting in a tensile strength of 255 MPa or more. The dry carbon roof manufactured in this process weighs 2.1 kg compared to 7.0 kg of genuine panel, achieving a weight reduction of 4.9 kg, while maintaining rigidity equal to that or higher than that of steel while staying safe.

By installing a dry carbon roof, the height of the center of gravity is lowered, and it can be expected to have a positive effect on the moment of inertia of the roll.
